I ended up giving up and buying a new 120g tank. I'm just waiting on a 3d background to come before I fill it up and transfer the few fish I have. Then the new adventure of stocking it with male peacocks and haps without breaking the bank begins.

Mike,
According to what I found online they hold 2-3 weeks.  http://animal-world.com/encyclo/fresh/cichlid/RedZebra.php

Keep in mind , as was mentioned at the big auction and in the newsletter, that P.zebra has been split into about 20 different species.  For BAP purposes, any zebras submitted would ilkely go in as Metriaclima sp. (of which you can only submit one) unless you can get a solid ID down to species. You'd have to do a little digging on OB Zebras because I think they're a hybrid and therefore would be your one Metriaclima sp. allowed for that genus.  None of this matters too much if you're just breeding to breed.  But for BAP it's a newly emerged issue with the recent taxonomic changes.  Lots of people are going to be doing some serious homework to get their fish properly identified.

Hope that helps. Smiley

Well my Red OB Zebras are spawning right now.  Does anyone know how long they hold the eggs?

You should really check out the used equipment sale at Elmers (https://catalog.elmersaquarium.com/departments/events-137.html).  It's the second Saturday of the month. It opens at 0 Am but you need to get there at 9:30 to be the first one in line if you want to get a good deal on a large tank.  You might want to go in a couple of days early and see if they can accomodate your disability.

I have got great deals on tanks.  I am currently setting up a 72 gallon bow front tank that I paid $25.00 for.  Other tanks I got there include:

240 gallon - $40.00
125 gallon - $25.00
2 75 gallon tanks - $25.00 each

A lot of the large tanks are listed as "leakers" but I've never had to repair any of them.

Unfortunately forums are a bit dated.  Many forums I used to visit have gone by the wayside.  People get tired of answering the same questions repeatedly.  And trolls take their toll on everyone by repeatedly broaching controversial topics just to get a rise out of people  Roll Eyes.  And many people are just too busy to visit another website

While the club is educational, it tends to be more thru direct personal interaction at meetings or other functions, or by e-mailing people directly.  Club members share knowledge thru written articles in the newsletters.  And anyone interested can ask the BAP chair to pull spawning reports for particular species if they would like more info.

Not only fish at auctions. Could also be equipment and tanks. You'll be surprised how cheap tank sell for.
I'm at the end stages of purchasing a new van, and as long as I get it before then I plan to come out. Hopefully I can be surprised at how cheap I buy a tank for Smiley

I have emailed many companies and posted on groups, but have not had any luck. I have pretty much accepted that I will have to buy a new set up. I had really hoped to have a new tank ready before the auction next month. I'm going to try to go to that but my current setback is my van is completely broke down. I think I should have a new van purchased by next week. I also still haven't committed to either a 90 or 120 gallon tank. I think I want 120, but it would be nice to be able to see one up and running to get a better idea of how big it is. Is there only fish at these auctions?
